DAn Kosiw,  IN MEMORIAM

Daniel passed suddenly on December 25, 2023 at the age of 37. Beloved son of Jerry and Angela Kosiw. Proud brother of Michael (Sally). Adored uncle of Kennedy and Kate. Dear nephew of Irene (Jeff). Cherished cousin of Lisa (Jamie) and their children Mascha and Dallas, Ryan (Tarlan) and Jessika (Kyle) and their children Liam. He is predeceased by his grandparents Theodore and Maria Kosiw and Floyd and Marj Daynard. He will be greatly missed by extended family, colleagues at Nolan Persaud and friends. Daniel grew up in Whitby and obtained his BA (Hons) with distinction in Criminology from UOIT in Oshawa. He continued his education in graduate school at the University of Leicester (UK) where he was awarded a Master of Science degree in Criminology, specializing in the study of terrorism and global security. After completing his initial studies, he embarked on his life-long dream of serving his country in the Canadian Armed Forces. In 2014 he enrolled into the Canadian Army and was ultimately posted to CFB Kingston at the Canadian Forces Joint Signal Regiment where he served for four years. Upon the completion of his military service, Daniel returned to the United Kingdom and the University of Leicester to study law. In 2020, he received his LL.B. and was called to the Bar of the Province of Ontario in 2022. His military service has positively impacted his life in many ways. Perhaps the most relevant being instilling the value of ‘service before self.’ He will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
